My film photography from Italy 2024
In October of 2024, I took a trip to Italy and visited Rome and the Amalfi Coast. I love to bring my film camera when traveling as the limitation of 36 frames in a roll forces me to be mindful when setting up a picture. Here’s my best photos from the trip!

Spot the kitty! All these cats are taken care of by the Cat Sanctuary and live in these ruins.

We stopped in Naples for only a few hours on our journey from Rome to Amalfi

looking down from the steps to the Duomo in Amalfi, I love all the umbrellas from this rainy day

Our first day in Amalfi was very rainy and gloomy, our shoes got soaked through, we had to buy umbrellas, but there was very little crowds as everyone else stayed inside!
We walked from Amalfi to Atrani, about a 10 minute walk on the side of the road. Atrani is an even smaller town! But so gorgeous it felt like a fairytale
Look how the road is elevated above the water! The structure reminds me of a conch shell
We had the small beach to ourselves and the birds

We took a day trip to Positano, you can take a bus or ferry in between Amalfi and Positano
Positano was definitely a bigger and busier place than Amalfi, wayyyy more tourists
The beach of Positano, it was still warm enough in October to swim!
The city is so vertical, it’s extremely easy to get lost trying to navigate the levels
Church in Positano
On the road between Amalfi and Positano is this beautiful tall bridge where you can get off the bus, walk down the steps and swim beneath the bridge.
Fiordo di Furore and the swimming hole. I was too afraid to swim alone here as the waves looked like they’d suck me out of the cove into the sea.
These private boats when come just under the bridge into the cove for a view.
The view from the other direction into Furore
I was here past sunset waiting for the bus back to Amalfi. The bus was very unpredictable here and I feared I’d have to hitchhike back when it was an hour late, but it did eventually come for me!
